What an amazing two months we have just had with a wide variety of high profile guests staying here at the Crowne Plaza Birmingham City.

Shuttling backwards and forwards
We were delighted to be the ‘Host’ hotel for the recent Liberal Democrats Conference including Nick Clegg, the Party executive and the party faithful. To heighten the interest, simultaneously we were also the HQ hotel for the national and international players’ and officials participating in the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships.

All in spin
Another major highlight was our role as a Partner Hotel for the International Dance Festival Birmingham.

We were privileged to look after a wide range of dance companies including the Ballet Nacional De Cuba with guest appearance from Carlos Acosta

Having attended one of their performances, I am now a convert having seen how graceful and powerful the whole company was in presenting extracts from the most famous ballets.
Back in the hotel, we hosted a lovely After Show party which was attended by Artistic Director Alicia Alonso, the Ballet Company and other Friends and organisers of Birmingham Hippodrome.

Never thought I would be rubbing shoulders with such great performers.
